Brig
Brig-Glis is a lively little town in the middle of the alps. The beautiful old town with its squares and winding alleys is perfect for a lovely walk. The numerous restaurants with outdoor seating gives the city it’s unique flair. A visit to the Stockalper Castle and its flowery, green garden completes your stay in Brig.
Brig was named Alpine Town of the Year by an international jury in 2008. In spring 2016, Brig also received the Top City Award from hotel.de as the most beautiful Swiss city with a castle or fortress.
Today’s townscape was shaped by the immense building enthusiasm of the Stockalper family. However, some houses date back to the time before Kaspar Stockalper, such as the Antoniusspital, the Antoniuskapelle and the Metziltenturm.
